Prohibited Use Policy

This Prohibited Use Policy (the “Policy”) describes activities that are not allowed when using Periscope, provided by Periscope, Inc. (“Periscope”, “we”, “us”). It supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Because our entire purpose is protecting people’s personal information, we hold the use of our service to a high standard. Violating this Policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.

Overview

Periscope helps you remove your own personal information from data broker websites, monitor for new exposures, and submit opt-out and deletion requests on your behalf. The service is provided for your personal, lawful use only. The conduct described below is prohibited whether you attempt it directly, through automated means, or by encouraging or enabling someone else to do it.

Identity & authorization

You may not:

• Submit information about, or removal requests for, anyone other than yourself or a person you are legally authorized to represent (such as a minor child or an individual for whom you hold valid legal authority).
• Provide false, misleading, impersonated, or stolen identity information, or use another person’s identity, payment method, or account without authorization.
• Use the service to investigate, locate, surveil, stalk, harass, or build a profile of another person.
• Attempt to use Periscope to obtain, confirm, or aggregate someone else’s personal information rather than to remove your own.

Misuse of the service

You may not:

• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service except under a written agreement with us (for example, an authorized white-label or partner arrangement).
• Submit fraudulent, duplicative, or bad-faith requests, or otherwise abuse opt-out and deletion mechanisms in a way that could harm data brokers, other users, or us.
• Misrepresent your relationship with Periscope, or claim to act as our agent or partner without authorization.
• Use the service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it, or interfere with any other party’s use.

Text messaging & communications

When you provide a phone number, you confirm it belongs to you and consent to receive a one-time verification message. In connection with our messaging and other communications, you may not:

• Enter a phone number you do not own or are not authorized to use, or sign up another person to receive messages.
• Use our verification or messaging features to send spam, or to facilitate unsolicited, harassing, deceptive, or unlawful communications.
• Attempt to circumvent opt-out keywords (such as STOP) or any messaging limits or protections we put in place.
• Use automated systems to repeatedly request verification codes or otherwise abuse our messaging infrastructure.

Security & technical abuse

You may not:

• Access or attempt to access any account, system, or data without authorization, or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or use bots, crawlers, or other automated means to access the service except as expressly permitted.
• Introduce malware, viruses, or any code or mechanism intended to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its data.
• Bypass, disable, or interfere with security, authentication, rate-limiting, or other protective features.

Unlawful & harmful use

You may not use Periscope:

• For any unlawful purpose, or to violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
• To infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any person.
• To engage in fraud, money laundering, or any deceptive, threatening, or abusive activity.
• In any manner that could expose Periscope, our partners, or other users to legal liability or harm.

Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations of this Policy and take any action we consider appropriate, including removing content, limiting or suspending features, terminating accounts, and cooperating with law enforcement or other authorities. We may take these actions with or without notice. Termination is handled as described in our Terms of Service.
